also...why would you sand something that is wet!! he does not wait until it is dry to sand the initial patch....now that I think about it, pretty bad instructions....

While I can agree with the method...the drying times are complete rubbish!! yes couple hours if hole/crack is small and its a dry hot summer day.....otherwise at least 24 hours!! some of the products out there are absolute rubbish and do not dry at all!!

Too expensive for most people, looking at all that expensive wood.

To anyone attempting this put a strongback on the top of your joists b4 you cut them so they don't sag after you cut them. A strongback is a peice of dimensional lumber layed vertical like a spine so the joists your not cutting will hold the ones you cut in place until you install your headers.
